ABOUT DANNY NORTH
When Danny came up with the idea of having an exhibition and releasing a book to coincide, he'd only been a full time pro for 1 year. During that time he established himself as a core member of the NME Editorial team, chief fashion photographer for Front Magazine, editorial photographer for Rock Sound, and perhaps most impressively, became the official touring photographer for one of the most successful British indie bands ever, the Kaiser Chiefs.
2005 to 2007, Danny was the photo editor of Sandman Leeds, the free music fanzine from the north of England which is where Danny learned his trade, some of these images play no small part in the exhibition, as Danny is as happy shooting up and coming acts from Leeds as he is international success' like My Chemical Romance or The Foo Fighters.
The Exhibition is the culmination an incredible year and the graft that laid behind it.

▪ "When I think about my favourite photographers from the past couple of decades, the names Glen E.Friedman, Ricky Powell and Charlie Ahearn always spring to mind first. These guys are just normal people who never try to make the artist or object look out of place or uncomfortable, a lot of the time it's capturing a time or a place or emotion, being in the right place at the right time and being able to spot something different in a band or a situation. When I first saw Danny's work it immediately reminded me of those guys, Danny has a talent and that's letting people be who they want to be, making them laugh and generally lightening the mood. Not long after Danny's father passed away we went to Austin, Texas to check out the South by South West Festival, I've never seen anyone emerge themselves in their work so much, he inspires me and everyone who comes in contact with him and I know his father would be proud. A cool guy in every meaning of the word, forever the professional."
