Review: 'Faltered'
'Fortune Favours'

-  Genre: 'Rock' -  Release Date: '2nd September 2013'

Our Rating:
Emerging from the endless sea of so-called post-hardcore bands, Faltered actually offer something different. The press release chucks around touchstones like Biffy Clyro, Nirvana, Hundred Reasons and Reuben, but for once they’re selling the band short with such obvious reference points.

Imagine if Bivouac had cranked up the guitars a bit harder and Bush hadn’t been so lame, then they might have produced a track like ‘Fortune favours the Needy’. But Faltered don’t just hark back to the grunge sound or slavishly adhere to the post-hardcore template, and this seven tracker suggests the Welsh duo are onto something. Mathrock metal might sound like a bad idea, but it’s a fair description of what Faltered do, and it’s actually really rather good.
