Is this some kind of a parody? Or is to time to pull out a ‘Jennifer Herrema goes pop!’ headline? It’s certainly a far cry from the previous Black Bananas album, and even further from the scuzzy racket of Royal Trux. In fact, it would sit comfortably on commercial radio. I shit you not. ‘Physical Emotions’ is actually a sleek and funky slice of disco-pop. With the autotuned vocals and bombing bass, it sounds like Har Mar Superstar producing [insert generic mainstream r’n’b pop diva here]. Weird, and most unexpected.
