Review: 'Oh Captive'
'Advance Creature'

-  Label: 'www.facebook.com/ohcaptive'
-  Genre: 'Indie' -  Release Date: '28.4.14.'

Our Rating:

West country Indie metal of the blandest could be any one of a thousand identikit bands is the first impression that Bed Of many Ghosts the opening song on Oh Captives ep gives me. The sort of song that could have come out at any point from about 1995 onwards from anyone like Sum 41 to Biffy Clyro but failing to do anything to make me want to find out more about the Terrible Lives they sing about.

Advance Creature starts quiet and then blows up a bit but is no more than background modern indie, this band need to be sensational live to make any headway at all and this just sounds like something that I've heard before. The EP closes with Retreat Being a song that I'm sure Oh Captive would love to be used on a computer game or as background music for something else, but really it just sounds too similar to everything else here to make much of an impression.
