Review: 'A New Day'
'Forever Tonight (EP'

-  Genre: 'Rock' -  Release Date: '4th August 2014'

Our Rating:
We’re told that A New Day were raised on a diet of Blink 182, All Time Low, Simple Plan and Jimmy Eat World. Poor buggers. You are what you eat (World), so the saying goes, and sure enough, theirs is a sound that is the sum of its influences: lightweight, poppy pained-teen ‘rock’.

‘She’s got a boyfriend now’ singer / guitarist Chris Tunnicliffe whines on ‘Boyfriend’ as he rides on a riptide of wooah-oooah’ backing vocals. He sounds like he’s doing a fine job of maintaining a chirpy demeanour despite being so heartbroken he’s crying into his milkshake.

The two other tracks, ‘Faith in Me’ and ‘Call You Mine’ (with a predictable parenthetical ‘I Don’t Want To’ appended) are equally mundane, lacking both flavour and nutritional value.
