Review: 'Maybeshewill'
'Fair Youth'

-  Album: 'Fair Youth' -  Label: 'Superball Music'
-  Genre: 'Post-Rock' -  Release Date: '25th August 2014'

Our Rating:
Rolling pianos dominate the sound of the latest of offering from Leicester-based quintet Maybeshewill, the looping motifs floating gently along, punctuated by surging guitars, explosive drums and soaring strings in meticulously realised crescendos.

Yes, it’s a classic instrumental pot-rock format, and as ever, comparisons to Explosions in the Sky, 65daysofstatic etc. are inevitable. What sets Maybeshewill apart from many of their peers is that their material holds its own in context of those comparisons: their songs are abrim with luscious textures and emotion conveyed in music alone. The title track is an uplifting surge and swell of guitars that rushes skywards, and it’s analogous of the trajectory of the band’s musical accomplishments.
