Review: 'Floodgates, The'
'You'

-  Genre: 'Pop' -  Release Date: '13th October 2014'

Our Rating:
The Floodgates introduce themselves as ‘a young and fresh three-piece acoustic rock band, comprising Martin Stenning, Tim Fullbrook, and Alex Wane, and celebrating Mumford & Sons, Bruce Springsteen, Jeff Buckley and Tom Odell as their influences.’

Debut single ‘You’ is indeed the sum of the aforementioned parts. Melodic, gentle, but making a stab at the uplifting anthemic chorus, it’s the kind of song that’s easy on the ear and bound to snag many who hear it. Fair play I suppose, but there’s so much of this kind of stuff around that they’re going to need a lot of exposure to get noticed.
