There’s something timeless and infinitely cool about this. Superficially, it’s straight ahead classic rock. All the ingredients are there: strolling basslines, steady rhythms and nonchalant blues-based riffs that fearlessly burst into squalling solos. At times breaking into Neil young / Dinosaur Jr. territory, the brothers Bohannon crank out something that straddles heavy-duty Americana and ballsy country while twanging’ those old-school rock vibes.
Ultimately, genre categorisations are pointless and stupid. Ultimately, there are two kinds of music: good and bad. With some kicking tunes and swagloads of attitude, Bohannons make good music. Music with nuts.
