Review: 'No Mad Karma'
'27'

-  Genre: 'Folk' -  Release Date: '27/04/15'

Our Rating:
This track is as heartfelt as a tribute to the late Amy Winehouse can get, David Sye, cousin to Winehouse, pulled together on of the most multi-cultural pieces of music ever written. Ranging from eclectic musical styles such as, Kazakh melodies, coarse rock 'n roll vocals, gospel vocals, jazz guitar strumming, and many many more

The song itself plays tribute to when late Amy Winehouse died and became a member of the "27 Club", which is a term used to describe musicians who died at the age of 27, artists such and Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and Kurt Cobain are members. The beginning of the song most definitely set the emotional tone for the rest of the track, you hear Sye whispering "Miss you baby. Your song goes on".

Obviously he talks about how he misses Winehouse immensely and you can tell he's going to put everything he has got into the rest of the track. Not only has Sye brought his music skills, but he is accompanied by Jaelle Small (Millie Small's daughter), Phil Spalding (producer and bassist) and drummer drummer Preston Heyman, who both worked with acts such as Mick Jagger, Katie Bush and many more.

"There's a band in the sky, hear their sound and you will fly". No other words could've said it better, and that is exactly what the track makes you feel like you're doing.
