This album is released on a London-based label who, under the tag-line "free music for a skint world" are giving away their entire catalogue online for nothing. This altruistic gesture is only of value if the music is any good.
Unfortunately, The Stoop's self-titled debut does not bode well as it's a curiously anonymous and mediocre affair. It is by a five piece band who are four parts Swiss and one-part Canadian and sound like a pop'n'reggae version of Dire Straits.
Attempts at humour fall flat and it's hard to understand who exactly the album is pitched at. The lead track One Way Ticket sets the tone; a song in dubious taste about a sinking ship with passengers drowning without a lifeboat ("The captain's not coming back for you").

This tune is presented on Soundcloud to entice listeners to check out the other nine tracks but , while it doesn't get any worse, it doesn't stoop to conquer either.
