Two long-form tracks extending beyond the ten-minute mark box in a pair of shorter tracks – ‘mogmicher zugang – ubergang’ 1 & 2, which consist primarily of distorted beats which crackle and bluster. Otto Horvath’s vocals grace the ‘ubergang 2’, a mess of tweets and whistles and grunting blasts of electronic discord.
It’s noisy, but subtly so: scraping shards of feedback grate the senses for what feels like an eternity before tribal drums hammer in ten minutes into ‘Un)durchdringbar. A subsonic bass rumble provides a heavy rhythmic undercurrent.
‘Todi’ is a collage of field samples and piercing feedback preface a slow, semi-ambient trudge over a deliberate beat, yawning and scraping peripherals scattering treble over the low-end hum.
It’s by no means an EP you can groove to, but it makes for compelling listening.
