Review: 'Cave Mouth'
'Deep Water'

-  Genre: 'Rock' -  Release Date: '19th August 2015'

Our Rating:
Yes, I know the entrance of a cave is referred to as its mouth, but Cave Mouth sounds like some kind of terrible fungal infection, or something akin to trench foot.

They claim to be influenced by Prince, ESG, Busta Rhymes, Leadbelly, Jack White, Queens of the Stone-age and Jethro Tull – which they whip into a cocktail of primal lo-fi funk, a gritty blend of blues, funk and hip-hop with African-influenced tunes and mind-altering lyrics.

‘Deep Water’ is a chunk of rough ‘n’ ready, stripped back and swampy blues rock with a psychedelic, soulful edge. It swaggers in and swaggers out in under three minutes, as cool and easy as you like. Job done.
