Review: 'Bit-Tuner'
'A Bit of Light'

-  Album: 'A Bit of Light' -  Label: '-OUS'
-  Genre: 'Ambient'

Our Rating:
This is music which evokes a sense of space. It also has a steely, dark, imperious atmosphere. Brittle, metallic, robotic synths stab hard against sparse beats which reverberate through the infinite void. Predominantly, the sounds and compositions are impersonal, stark and chill.

Ok, so ‘Twin Crystal’ sounds like a rip-off of Flat Eric’s ‘Flat Beat’, but spirals into darkness, casting a crystalline light into darkness, while elsewhere, ‘Megalith’ bears overtones of ‘Tubular Bells’ for the space age. The tracks drift into one another, stippling synths stretching out endlessly, their structures creating expansive laser-guided sonic latticeworks. The album’s hypnotic effects are cumulative, melting into one transcendental (w)hole.
