As if sharing a name with Boots’ range of low-calorie diet food wasn’t bad enough, this French band come pre-loaded with comparisons to The Hives and Nirvana, early Green Day and A Day to Remember. That is to say, their thing is pretty standard poppy punk for the most part, with a dash of one of the aforementioned featuring.
Choppy garage guitars cut in on ‘Secrets’, and there’s a certain energy about it, and ‘Another Chance’ brings a slant of Nevermind-era grunge. If the acoustic ‘Lonely Moments’ feels a bit formulaic in a Green Day sort of a way, the final track, ‘Youth Disaster’ at least brings the EP to a rabble-rousing conclusion.
