Review: 'SENSOR, TREVOR'
'Starved Nights Of Saturday Stars'

-  Label: 'Jagjauwar'
-  Genre: 'Folk' -  Release Date: '5th August 2016'

Our Rating:
Three songs where the words in the titles exceeds the playing time (9min. 25 secs)

On the first two tracks Sensor screams, whines and growls, sounding like an unhinged anti-folk singer trying a little too hard to be humorous.

When Tammy Spoke To Martha is the lead single and Starved Nights Of Saturday Stars is not.

The final track, Another Night At Lamppost Lounge, is by far the longest (5:20) and consists of what seems like a spoken word conversation with himself, kinda like an American version of Arab Strap's The First Big Weekend.

The contrast between this and the preceding numbers is presumably intended to demonstrate just how precociously, unpredictable a talent this 22 year old singer from Illinois is.

If so, then it's mission accomplished but for my money the jury is still out on whether this makes him anything more than a novelty act.
