Itä-Saksa means 'East Germany' but this is the work of a Finnish band formed by vocalist Jade Soikkeli and music producer Hiili Hiilesmaa.
It's their first album in 16 years and arrives after a gestation period described as " lengthy, surprising and even painful".
The end result is 11 tracks of mostly pounding but frequently brooding industrial rock with synthesized rhythms that are often like heavier versions of Giorgio Moroder disco beats.
That said, Saturday Night Fever, despite its title, is a dour and introspective piece that isn't about to set any dance floor alight.

The psychic boogie of Lonesome Boy and pulsing energy of Johnny's Knockout Club are more upbeat and danceable but it all ends with the misanthropic And I Still Can't Stand People with doesn't sound much like a band embracing its fan base with any enthusiasm.
In construction terms, the album is more like a modest tenement block than a towering monument.
