The odd couple in question are Berliners, Tammo Dehn and Jascha Kreft
The German title of their second album translates as 'independent' or 'to spread one's wings', a sign that they feel more confident than on their debut punningly entitled 'It's A Pressure To Meet You'.
It is in this frame of mind that they launch into a rowdy mix of trash metal, krautrock & glam punk with a vengeance. The PR team call their sound "a perverse foray into stoner rock".
Do they take themselves seriously? On balance I'd be more inclined to answer in the negative.
Lyrically the content could kindly described as high energy gibberish. The track list includes multilingual 'make_of_them_them_what_you_will' titles like Go Sees,Très Mello and Gehirnkasten.

They'd grasped that music like this doesn't really have to mean anything; it's enough that it sounds good with the volume cranked up and the brain in neutral mode.
On that score you'd have to conclude that this is 'mission accomplished'. It only remains for you to follow the directive in Tubes & Wires: "Move your hips to the beat and dance".
