Review: 'CURANDEROS'
'Curanderos'

-  Label: 'Fire'
-  Genre: 'Rock' -  Release Date: '11th August 2017'

Our Rating:
Hot on the heels of the magical "Under The Pines" LP comes this two track (20 mins per track) album from Bardo Pond in collaboration with experimental ensemble Kohoutek and released as "Curanderos".

Originally released on gold vinyl for Record Store Day and now available on CD. The track titles "Mescalito Pt.1 & 2" tell you immediately what kind of trip we are on. It is an avant garde one that cruises through noise, kosmiche and prog, to name but three.

In that sense, how much better could I describe it? By dissecting, verbalising and reducing? I don't think so. This is turn on and tune in music. Shamanistic and therefore mesmeric. "Pt. 1" is more melodic and builds steadily whereas "Pt. 2" is more fractured and minimal. A tad more free jazz. Wish I'd got the vinyl. Suck on the button and find out how.
