Our Rating:
This Dublin based Irish singer-songwriter's debut album was entitled Only 2 Late If Ur Dead and his follow up continues a preoccupation with aging and a recognition of the need to make every moment count.

Gone In A Heartbeat contains wry reflections on the passing years by comparing how the concept of time differs between the young and the old while a radical solution of cryogenically cheating death is contemplated in Thaw Me Out When You Can Cure Me.

When he's not worrying about getting old he thinks a fair bit about going mad. This topic is explored in the opener, Not Guilty By Reason Of Insanity, and again on 12 Monkeys, presumably inspired by Terry Gilliam's dystopian Sci-Fi movie.

On a lighter note, or perhaps not, Lake Louise is about getting chased by a grizzly bear in the Canadian Rockies ("You better run, run run run!").

Meanwhile, Oblivious adds to a growing catalogue of songs about the modern day zombie-like addiction to mobile phones.

Even when the issues are serious, Oragh's deadpan delivery shouldn't distract you from the strong tongue in cheek element.

This focus on humour is fine up to a point but the lyrics are simply not as clever as artists like Jarvis Cocker or Neil Hannon. As a result, the jokiness is a novelty factor that I wears thin quickly.

Taken one by one, the songs are personable enough but the hour long playing time of the complete album feels like a bit of a slog.
