Review: 'Jjohns, The'
'So Alone'

-  Genre: 'Indie' -  Release Date: '16th March 2018'

Our Rating:
Like Wooden Shjips, The Jjohns have a silent ‘j’ in their name. Unlike Wooden Shjips, The Jjohns are from Liverpool and are very much exponents of the longstanding Merseybeat tradition as represented by the likes of The Beatles and Gerry and the Pacemakers, through to The La’s and Cast. And unlike the other band called John – The Three Johns – none of the Jjohns are called John (or Jjohn).

‘So Alone’ is a sprightly if slightly generic jangly indie rock effort that’s got the kind of bounce that gets people going on the dancefloor or at live shows. The production is a shade basic and the guitar sound a little muddy, but the energy and the keen melodies carry it.
