Review: 'Tav Falco's Unapproachable Panther Burns'
'Live at the Blues Kitchen Brixton'

-  Genre: 'Blues' -  Release Date: '9.8.18.'

Our Rating:
I'd tell you who the support was but I can't find him named anywhere and he didn't say his name either, so he was a one man blues band playing guitar drums and harmonica while sounding a bit like a cross between Robert Gordon and James Leg at his best on Race Car and 9 to 5 he was nicely rough around the edges and had enough spirit to keep us all listening.

After the break It was time for the current line-up of Tav Falco's Unapproachable Panther Burns who could be re-named His Italian Stallions as they are all dressed in sharp suits but not as sharp as Tav's suit and he looks in great shape and voice for a Gentleman provocateur in his 70's.

From the opening intro the band sound as great as usual these days perfectly in the key of Tav and making the Funnel Of Love pulsate as it should before treating us to a very cool version of Breakaway.

They leaned heavily on his two most recent albums and did a very cool Garden Of The Medicis as Tav got into talking about Psycho Geography and I tried to think if it was the 70's or 80's I last spent time in this building back when it was still a Synagogue.

Drop Your Mask featured some great moves from Tav as they almost segued into Tango Mago He'll Have to Go had more of a glint in its eye than malice for the man hitting the door. I loved the sensual version of the Ballad Of The Rue De La Lune and of course the Chauffeur Blues allowed Tav to bring his personal driver onstage to blow some harp I can't recall if that was before or after they took a trip to Bangkok a song that I love but has such dodgy lyrics.

Tav as ever was the Master of Chaos and as the clock ran down they gave us a good Memphis Ramble before they left us with a song from Tav's Next album the extremely angry and spot on New World Order blues.

Damn he is in fine form and had a good selection of his books for sale along with some cd's can't wait for the new album.
