This album is a musical diary of two travellers, one from Germany and the other from Canada. More precisely, Marla (Marlene Winkler) was born in Heidelberg while David Celia is from Mississauga.
After meeting at a German music festival, their long distance love solidified in Toronto when Celia produced Marla’s debut album 'Madawaska Valley' in 2016.
The couple began a European tour opening for each other but gradually they decided to cast caution to the wind and combine their sets to become one act (although they still have separate websites!).
Forming a single musical unit was a smart move because there is a genuine warmth and naturalness in their vocal harmonies.
The eleven songs on Daydreamers were composed while touring Russia on the Trans-Siberian Railway and recorded at Organica, Celia’s home studio.

A spirit of joy and optimism is apparent right from the opening track Carry It On inspired by Pete Seeger’s collection of songbooks ("Open your window and breathe in the air") .
In expressing hopes of enduring love and world peace there's tenderness, pragmatism and some tweeness.
At times its all a bit too lovey-dovey for comfort but their mutual respect and affection shines through and they just about manage to avoid sliding into over-sentimentality.
