Long-haired, well-seasoned travelling songsman, Garrick Rawlings, was born in Wichita, Kansas and is currently based in Prescott, Arizona.
He began playing hard rock before falling in love with the blues in Chicago. After working as road manager to Ramblin' Jack Elliott he decided folk-Americana was the musical path he wanted to follow.
Covers of Grateful Dead's Friend Of The Devil and Townes Van Zandt's Poncho And Lefty give a fair idea of where he's coming from.
Many songs are rooted in nostalgia with fond and, at times, painful recollections. This theme is signalled by the opening line of the opening tune,I Want To Run Away: "I wrap myself in the blanket of your memory". It is also central to Lost In Time, in which finding a cello in a shop triggers thoughts of a lost love.

On many tracks, Paul Marshall of 'I See Hawks in LA' and Southern Californian singer Jaimi Lyn Shuey add harmony vocals. The Latin-influenced No Tendo Palabras (I Have No Words) features Perla Batalla and has half English/half Spanish lyrics.
The arrangements vary from fully acoustic to blends of electric, slide and steel.
It's all fairly tasteful and laid back but safe and predictable to the point of blandness.
