Our Rating:
I am reviewing this as a '2fer' but for all you bargain hunters out there they are separate releases so this will not be reflected in the actual price!

"Werkshau" is an anniversary compilation celebrating three decades of output from this highly committed bunch of individuals. Having started life as a creative and social project bringing together musicians with and without disabilities, they have rightly become an internationally acclaimed band in their own right. Including collaborations with Holger Czukay, Gudrun Gut, DJ Koze and Die Toten Hosen across a slew of classic tracks, it is indeed a fitting tribute to these pioneers.

"Ausblick" is something of a sister album to "Blick" from last year. Collaborators this time include Gunter Schickert, faUSt, Schneider TM and Ulrich Schnauss who all embrace the spontaneous working processes of Station 17 for the greater good. You get plenty of krautish electro such as "Geisterstunde, Baby", "Un Astronaute" and eleven minutes of bliss called "Sudwesthorn".

On top of that nice dub excursions like "...and beyond" and "Kusse den Wind". Furthermore, they can even throw in a pop gem like "Eine halbe Portion Gluck" for good measure. Incomparable, majestic even.
