I came to this record knowing next to nothing about the band. Their website isn't designed to enlighten me either as I found only a spurious bio about sailing on "uncharted waters of a Non-Specific ocean". On their PR and Facebook page, however, they reveal their current location to be Melbourne, Australia.
Personally, I'd have placed them nestling cosily in some sedate English market town. This is largely because Tom Bolton's modest, slightly wavering, voice suggests vulnerable emotions more than the swaggering masculinity .
Although some tracks feature electric guitar, the band are plainly more at home with jangly folk pop than with raunchy indie rock.
The acoustic instrumentation is divided between eleven listed members and includes accordion, mandolin and even a tin whistle on the one instrumental . If She Knew My Name.
Clues to their influences come in the form of two covers. Charlie FreakMilk And Honey is a revamp of a wistful folk song written back in the 1960s by Jackson C. Frank.

Their own songs, all penned by Bolton, deal with chasing shadows, following dreams and trying to make Some Kind Of Connection. Accidents Of Fate is a prime example of Bolton's preference for lilting reflections on life's little ironies.
In nautical terms, these melodic songs guarantee musical explorers safe passage over tranquil seas with no stormy conditions in sight.
