Review: 'Karobela'
'No Mercy'

-  Genre: 'Rock' -  Release Date: '28th June 2019'

Our Rating:
Karobela pitch themselves on their website as ‘Sexy, dirty and passionate’, while on Facebook they describe themselves as ‘Dirty and oozing with passion’. It’s quite an image, and it all sounds promising for a band who scored a slot at this year’s Camden Rocks before even releasing a single song.

Yes, ‘No Mercy’ is the debut for this Kentish foursome, who cite a range of influences spanning ‘classic acts such as Zeppelin and Hendrix, as well as modern day greats like Kaleo, Royal Blood and The Pretty Reckless’.

And yes, ‘No Mercy’ straddles the vintage and contemporary, with gutsy guitar riffage and strong but melodic vocals that have a quintessential ‘rock’ quality: Lauren Diamond (for real? If ever there was a classic rock star name, you’ve got it right there) has some real lungpower matched only by the rest of the band’s amp and percussion power). Balancing accessibility with a credible rock sound, it’s a very promising start.
