Review: 'Asteroid No.4, The'
'The Afterglow'

-  Label: 'Bandcamp'
-  Genre: 'Indie' -  Release Date: '19.6.20.'

Our Rating:
This is the second single off of The Asteroid No.4's tenth album and I have to admit, up until this point, the only thing of theirs I know is the bands legendary cover of Spacemen 3's Losing Touch With Your Mind that was on the covers album that came out some time ago. This single was recorded in the band's own studio in San Rafael California.

The Afterglow is as effects drenched a piece of space rock as you'd expect from a band called The Asteroid No.4 it conjures up the feel of Ladies & Gentleman We Are Floating In Space era Spiritualized nicely, this is perfect to sit back and enjoy the flight to the outer reaches too where things go a little bit Mystic Green in time for this to make for a nice chill out scene.

The B-side if that's an accurate term in this digital age (or the first single from the album if you prefer) is Northern Song that sounds Northern in the same way The La's or The Loft are northern, this sounds like it could either have come out in 1968 or 1986 let alone 2020 it has a cool jangly sound to it and the guitars really sound cool, very easy to hear over and over a few times as I wonder if I could get away with a cheeky reference to Dream Academy in the songs structure, either way well worth hearing.
