Our Rating:
This is the 18th and final part of Vlimmer's story of Jagmoor Cynwoolf, you can also buy the accompanying book that tells the story in full. As My German is pretty poor, I have to interpret the songs from how the vocals make me feel rather than knowing what Alexander Donat is singing about.

This opens with the very Telex like Mangelexemplar that takes a cool repeating synth riff and builds a sumptuous song around it that has a sense of longing to it.

Nacktheit sounds like an early Cure single in being goth pop with synth edges, this has catchy lyrics (even if I don't understand them) on a song that's perfect to dance to at a proper old school Goth club while you hope that A Forest comes on next. Before the tune takes several detours and a few false endings including one that is like a very dark heavy interpretation of Fade To Grey.

Vorwehen is sort of like Depeche Mode twisted through a synth maelstrom and as the darkest thoughts get transposed into something altogether poppier than might be expected from a song whose title is about going into labour.

Vorfreude is a song title that makes me think of philosophical Russian gangsters self-analysing every decision before they do something horrifically violent, the tune itself is a lot more pleasant than that being a dark wave poppy tune that like the rest of this EP will sound good on the dancefloor with all the joyful anticipation that should bring.

The Ep and project closes with the 10 minutes of Kern that starts of slow and dreamy with odd percussion coming in and out of the mix, eventually the sirens come in as things slow almost to a halt before it goes drums and bass with a darkened edge to it, and vocals that again sound a good bit like Robert Smith as the song rises and falls.
