Review: 'Caulbearers'
'Burst Through The Borders'

-  Label: 'Single Cell Recordings/Bandcamp'
-  Genre: 'Folk' -  Release Date: '29.4.21.'

Our Rating:
This is Caulbearers latest single and is a rather laid-back affair as Damien Mahoney's hybrid ensemble bring new age elements into the band's soulful laid-back music.

Burst Through The Borders (Radio Edit) is the almost 4 minute version of this gentle piece of inspirational soulful jazz folk, that as you slowly realize what the lyrics are about, it might jolt you out of the trance you may have been in, as you realize how interconnected everything is and how more things are transnational than you may have thought, and just how much we need to make sure Love is spread far and wide. The lyrics have been inspired by Khalil Gibran and Idries Shah and other magical thinkers.

Solid Supposed has a slow sax and tabla intro before guest vocalist Ruth Blake starts gently caressing our ears on this gloriously laid back rather supine song with some quite new age lyrics that should help sooth and prepare you for some deep meditation.

Burst Through The Borders (Full Version) is over 8 minutes long which allows them to expand musically as the lyrical intent works it's way into your mind and you realize how much they want love to spread as a force for healing our divisions, the Cello is far more noticeable than on the single version.
