Our Rating:
No they've sent the Christmas Grinch another Christmas album to review this time a free to download Christmas Album from the team at XO Publicity and featuring a good cross section of their clients to soundtrack a typical Christmas get together of all the family, so there is something for everyone on this album, from the music hating uncle to the classical snob and the punky yob this album covers all bases and therefore I love some of this album and hate some of it as I come up with some serving suggestions as to when you might choose to listen to the tunes that come from Org Music, Kill Rock Stars, Sonic Ritual, Greystone Music Group And Fluff And Gravy Records
What better way to start the Christmas eve festivities off than with some carol singers, but as they can't come this year because of Omicron, so instead let Limina Featuring Maddison Haan onto your doorstep singing O Come O Come Emmanuel complete with a fiddle player.

The family's queercore androgynous clique will all be smiling and singing along to It's Christmas, Motherfuckers by Logan Lynn as the more austere members of the family tell them to turn this filth off right now, how dare they use cuss words in the same sentence as Christmas, as a big argument unfolds, as to what words you're not allowed to utter on Christmas breaks out.

There's always a couple of family members who would really rather and go and spend Christmas In A Chinese Restaurant and Pat Kearns does his best to sound like he really wants to be Loudon Wainwright with those Motel Blues again, I want to be in that Chinese Restaurant with him.

As everyone gets ready to open the presents, we all hope that Ruby Has Left A Present Under The Christmas Tree for you as it is guaranteed to bring you Too Much Joy and it jangles as you shake it, no don't shake it too hard.

Towards the end of Christmas day when everyone is so stuffed they can barely move and a few uncles look about ready to nod out There Was A Star by Ohr provides the perfect tune for them to drift off too, into the arms of Morpheus once more.

After your Christmas dinner when it's time for a bit of a sing song Nick Van Eede is there to sit down at the piano and croon In The Bleak Midwinter as everyone nods along at the thought of just how bleak this mid-winter really is and your great aunt wonders if Nick wears knitwear like Bing Crosby did.

Bright and Surly on Christmas morning and Charlene Closshey is certain that I Heard The Bells On Christmas Day, despite the rotten hangover and blurry eyed early morning feelings the choir are ready to sing with her as the string section gently pushes us out of bed as we struggle to find a way to make it stop, oh no you can't stop it, it's Christmas.

The families space case uncle who continually nips out to the garden to sip gloggi with his weed starts going on about George Bailey, Astronaut to anyone passing by and commenting on how The Winter Sounds of the trees make him want to get out to space as you wonder if you really should smoke some of what he's offering in case it spoils the Christmas Pudding that's about to be served.

Of course the carol section needs Piney Gir (With The Roxys) singing the White Winter Hymnal on your doorstep as you hand over glasses of Snowballs and Mince pies to them in return for just one more chorus as you liked it that much you added a shot of Cherry Brandy to the snowballs. (Snowballs are Advocaat and Lemonade IE Eggnog)
The slightly preachy aunt in her 30's gets all excited telling you all about her days with the Army Of Jesus touring in there bus with Spray Allen and his crew as she keeps popping cheese footballs in her mouth slam dunk style.

Gospel sing along dance riot musical action time where everyone gets up and busts a move or three in a Fame Style, this year is in the capable hand of the Unapproachable Panther Claus Tav Falco making sure we know Santa Claus Is Back In Town and now everyone can open there presents.

It's late on Christmas eve and the bumper glasses of Twiglets are on the table as Son Of The Velvet Rat sips on his Whisky and tells us Twilight Is Falling to the sound of the crunching Twiglets that have been dunked in the gloggi in the background.

For those of you with little kids trying to stay up till midnight to see Santa Claus delivering his bounty Blue Glass bring you The Christmas Clock to try to make them fall into a deep sleep where they can dream of all the things they will get over this sparse piano lullaby.

Your sister has been nagging you for ages as no ones stepped up to belt out Silent Night and Christmas isn't complete till that happens, well Redray Frazier steps up to that plate and plays it as straight as he possibly can leaving your sister with a warm glow around her that has nothing to do with all the brandy snaps she's been eating.

Like every Christmas party there's always a tune or two that repeats and like the bad penny it is at this Christmas party it's O Come O Come Emmanuel that's on double duty as Sleepersound appeal to the families two 20 year old dweebs who can't quite figure out if they think this is a cool avant synth pop version of just pleasant wallpaper there fight over it ends up threatening to drown out the latter half of the tune, when lots of the family just want to wallow in it's lush warm embrace and drink some more Gloggi.

Happy Christmas everyone!
