Review: 'Jah Wobble And The Ukrainians'
'Ukrainian National Anthem in Dub feat Jon Klein'

-  Label: 'Bandcamp'
-  Genre: 'Reggae' -  Release Date: '3.5.22.'

Our Rating:
This fundraising single has been put together by Jah Wobble and The Ukrainians to help in the relief effort in War torn Ukraine and also to help fund some of the refugees arriving in Jah Wobble's local area of Merton in Sarf London as his studio and radio project Tuned In that he runs with Jon Klein and Anthony Hopkins. They enlisted The Ukrainians who have been playing Ukrainian themed punk and post punk indie since the 90's. I love their version of Anarchy in The Ukraine although they envisage a vastly different revolution to the war and destruction Putin has caused.

This is a deep dub almost Dennis Bovell style treatment of the national anthem, with the words in English they have a positive and less war like sentiment than many national anthems I can only urge everyone to donate and buy this single to help the disasters emergency committees Ukraine fund and The Ukrainians in Great Britain Emergency fund.

The lyrics to the anthem are.

Ukraine's glory has not perished, nor her freedom gone
Our strong people, once again, fate will smile upon
All our enemies will soon disappear like dew in the sun
Then, once more will we be free, in the land we call our own

Body and soul we will lay down for our freedom

And the world will know that we are people of the Kozak nation
