Our Rating:
This is a re-issue of Sprung Aus Den Wolkens self-titled LP from 1982 that was part of the Geniale Dilletanten movement, alongside Einsturzende Neubaten and Mechanik Destruktiw Kommandoh. Sprung Aus Den Wolken were a project revolving around the German artist Kiddy Citny and the re-mastered LP comes with all sorts of added extras photos and artwork. This album does not contain the bands only hit Pas Attendre, that featured in Wim Wenders film Der Himmel Uber Berlin.

The album opens with Nocht Lange Nicht that has funk punk bass, dubby percussion and strained vocals as if he is shouting for help.

Freue Mich Auf Dich has sounds of electronic interference set against a bass drum sample and whatever Kiddy Citny is talk singing about.

Warte has the most basic drum machine sound some shakers and the almost desperate sounding vocals. Sei Still has a slow but sure bassline, around which all the other noises and distractions go off, while the vocals tell whatever tale they tell as my German is not good enough to be much help.

A-i Akcam La is pretty much a drum and bass dancefloor tune, as that bassline leads us on a merry dance.

Que Pa has vocals that sound like they were recorded from 20 yards from the microphone, over gently pulsing synths and ambient sounds, that as it slowly builds, starts to sound like a more Germanic experimental reimagining of Third Uncle by Bauhaus sucked through the prism of Doctor Mix and The Remix's version of David Bowies Supermen.

Als Ware Nichts Gewesen Has disembodied synth tones and pulses crashing sounds, soundtrack narration style vocals buzzing guitars descending deep into a pit of squalor.

Beghre Dich sounds like A Burroughs Gysin cut op project with, tape loops, Moroccan drums, odd oscillators, mod noises, set against the dead pan narration that I wish I understood.

Nur Noch Beben is sexual grunts, screams, yelps among bells banging metal. pulsing beats, perfect for the dark room of a leather club with anvils and grinders to the ready, as voices jump out at you.

Mach Mit Mir Was Du Willst has an almost normal musical structure but with a deep dubbed experimental warp.

Urlaub Fur Ganz Berlin is late night, very loud in a very dark club, up to no good music, the pulsing beats blasting at your groin as the oscillators kick at your chest.

Langst Fallig Is like This Heat on even weirder drugs, basic percussion on anything you can hit that makes a sound, in a dank squat among the ruins.

Gong A Minute brings back the master musician style drumming with anvil beating oscillations from under the floor for a minute and a quarter.
