Review: 'Obehi'
'Everything'

-  Album: 'E.P.'
-  Genre: 'Pop'

Our Rating:
Everything is the debut single from Scots-based RnB songstress Obehi. In terms of packaging, there is nothing to shout about here, a basic CD-R package is one that does the artist no favours but, judging a book by its cover aside, the music contained therein is worthy of closer inspection.

Taking the smooth sounds of commercial RnB and pairing it up to a strong pop sensibility, Obehi has a sound best described as evoking the smooth 90s sounds of Brandy & Monica and updating it with some of the offbeat genius that made Gwen Stefani such a successful solo star just a couple of years back.

Lead track Everything is the obvious standout here but all three demos show off her strong vocals and way around a memorable melody. Not ready for stardom yet so to speak, but ready for recognition. Could well come up with something special in the future.
