Breek are a pair of Amsterdam-based producers, Salvador Breed and Stijn van Beek (hence the amalgamative moniker). They’re no doubt hoping to ‘burst’ onto what’s an already crowded electronic scene with their spacious, dubby instrumental music as represented by this, their debut release.
The squawking bird at the end of the first track, ‘inuit’ is an interesting touch, but perhaps only because the music that precedes it isn’t especially attention-grabbing. It ain’t bad by any means: the mellow muzak of ‘1974’, coupled with the chillwave sound collaging of ‘1954’ make for some pleasant vibes.
