"You carry the faces around for awhile, and then you forget"...
Back in 1919, when I was hired to clear debris from the battlefields of the Great War, I happened upon a mysterious photograph. It was a cameo that depicted a young woman with a curious look on her face that gave me pause. There was a small inscription that read, "Martha Lyle Wills 1831-1893 - For whom the church was named". I wonder who she was. This song is a tribute to the names and faces of those who we've lost or forgotten on our journeys.
