Review: 'ORIGAMI HORSES'
'Velvet Rock/ Ruby's Magic Circle'

-  Label: 'www.magneticeyerecords.com'
-  Genre: 'Indie' -  Release Date: '2nd May 2013'-  Catalogue No: 'MER 017'

Our Rating:
That this single opens with Steve Lamacq introducing the song on the evening session before it clatters into life tells you who this is aimed at. And the Origami Horses make a hell of a racket that should have plenty of 16-25 year olds going mental in the mosh pit too.

Both tracks on the single rush past as if they are afraid to slow down in case some subtlety impinges on the shambolic noise engulfing the listener. I can only hope this Canterbury band's live performances are as brief as this single as they would be a thrilling 20 minutes or so. As it is the two tunes here take just over 4 minutes to fly by in total so no chance of getting bored.

Anyone looking for a new wave of shambling clatterers need look no further than Origami Horses. You won't be upset at the noise you encounter here.
