Scratchy fragments of guitar and extraneous sounds cut in and out stutteringly. Strains of electronic distortion hum and crackle intermittently between the juddering, halting shards of sound. It’s probably what you might expect from a man who’s back catalogue includes an EP entitled ‘Moon Rectum.’
Listening to ‘Grün Ist Grau’ - paticularly side one, which is occupied by a 1-minute soonic wreck entitled ‘Bombay Boobies Battle - is a bit like listening to a stereo with dodgy speaker cables. That isn’t a similie. Equally, it’s a bit like watching a video on-line that’s continually buffering: however cool it may be, it’s also frustrating. Still not bad though....
