Our Rating:
Looking at the cover of this and seeing both band name and song titles I thought I was going to hear something rather different to what I got on this EP.

If you have a supplier for some Mandrax I'd advice popping a couple and then pressing play and you'll drift off while Mastermind plays. According to the press release, it is an instrumental letter to the ruling masterminds of this world, asking them to stop squeezing the hell out of the rest of humanity!! A good idea, but what I hear is some plinky plonky electronica with a nice string bit that keeps repeating as I drift off to sleep cocooned by this very restful muzak. Zzz...

The second tune, The Little Match Girl is apparently pinched from Jean Renoir's silent film, yes music stolen from a silent movie!!! It's actually some very pastoral folky-sounding wallpaper for falling asleep too. Zzz...

Now if you are going to name your tune Pan-Galactic Gargle Blaster (after what Zaphod Beetlebrox describes as the strongest drink in the universe in The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy) it ought to be an awful lot more drunken and lively than this is, as it sounds like polite cocktail bar wallpaper jazz designed to be talked over and ignored and more like a glass of low alcohol wine than the strongest drink in the universe.

The EP closes for those still awake with Six Billion Telephones that sadly isn't an attempt at the sound they would make if they all rang together but instead more sleepy background music that makes me want to have a snooze. Yawn...
