Review: 'Senking'
'Capsize Recovery'

-  Album: 'Capsize Recovery' -  Label: 'Raster-Noton'
-  Genre: 'Trip-Hop' -  Release Date: '16th September 2013'-  Catalogue No: 'R-N 152'

Our Rating:
Sonorous rumbles, scrapes and drones … distant voices echo. Away in the background, slow drums push through the swirling bass to conjure slow rhythms. Dislocation, isolation… subsonic bass shuffles.

The beats build as the album progresses, and by ‘Cornered’, the third track in, Senking have hauled the listener into a bleak world, the soundtrack to which is trip-hop in a vortex dominated by sparse sounds and expansive soundscapes to create a darkly atmospheric album that’s weighty but compelling.
