With a nagging reverby guitar line and serpentine bass that snakes around a surprisingly danceable beat, ‘Spiral Code’ is accessible and distils many of the things that are good about its parent album into a little over four minutes. Uptempo, textured, dynamic and not just a little mathy, it sounds as though it would be at home cut into a TV show, fading in during a montage sequence, perhaps. As such, it’s a well-judged choice of lead single for ‘Origins’.
