Sometimes, the concept is better than the reality. Lounge metal is one such concept. It was playing acoustic lounge versions of metal classics that Hellsongs began life. Album number five is a set of original compositions with a handful of barely-recognisable covers and it’s hard to discern any tangible metal element in the lounginess of this cheesy pop monstrosity. It’s hard to even approach this ironically. The cover art certainly belies the contents, but even then, it’s not funny or clever, it’s just plan naff.
