Review: 'CODNER, HERRINGTON'
'Real'

-  Genre: 'Rock' -  Release Date: 'November 2013'

Our Rating:
HERRINGTON CODNER is a man of many talents. To offset the drudgery of his day job as a truck driver, in Canada, he writes music within the self-coined genre "Ragwire." This seems to be an awesome mixture of reggae, funk, rock and pop.

The lead single Real, off his new (third) album of the same name, has been my first experience listening to Codner, but it won't be my last! From the backwards guitar driven intro it's clear that Herrington Codner is a unique talent. The single mixes together eclectic musical influences, an uplifting message of standing up for what is right and a world view clearly shaped by the artist's own experiences.

The track's verses effortlessly ingrain themselves in your mind and build to an extremely catchy chorus. From the title of the track and the album it's clear that Codner is a real person, making real music for real people. There's no bland, manufactured filler to be found on this album.

The rest of the album simply builds on the uplifting energy of the single. As much of it was written on the road, during the trials and tribulations of Codner's day job, it is a perfect album to listen to whilst in the car. I urge you to give Real just one listen, as I doubt it will be your last.
