Review: 'Charrier, Charles-Eric'
'C6 GIG (February 2012)'

-  Album: 'C6 GIG (February 2012)' -  Label: 'Monotype'
-  Genre: 'Ambient' -  Catalogue No: 'mono 059'

Our Rating:
This is subtle alright. A few chimes, the occasional booming bass note... but for the majority of the album’s single untitled track, which spans a full 46 minutes, there’s nothing, or next to nothing.

As an exploration of the effects of silence and the way minimalism can be taken to distant horizons, ‘C6 GIG’ demonstrates a serious commitment and a sense of obsessive artistry. But as a musical work, it’s extremely difficult to appraise. It’s not even an ambient work that gently or even subliminally alters moods, because there simply isn’t enough sound to create any kind of atmosphere.
