Our Rating:
So, Christmas is coming and what is supposed to be a time of joy and unity can be a living hell for millions. What is the reason for such misery? Much worse than overcooked sprouts or dry turkey, the reason for mine and many others' festive dread is being force fed the same, overplayed Christmas songs again and again.

Do not despair! Put down The Pogues and forget about Slade because Santa is here and he's ready for some Kung Fu fighting. That's right, Santa's tired of others cashing in on his good work. It also appears that Santa has a mysterious past. Having played in a hugely successful 70s group, Santa is keeping his hidden identity a secret that will be revealed around Christmas.

Backed by his Christmas Crackers, Santa has decided to release the album Let There Be Christmas. The LP features a good mix of both originals and covers. Lead single Christmas Shopping is a take on the Carl Douglas classic Kung Fu Fighting. It does exactly what a Christmas song should; it's funny, cheesy and instantly catchy.

The rest of the 14 track album follows in a similar manner. Even though some of those dreaded festive songs are covered, they are given new life by Santa and his Christmas Crackers. Let There Be Christmas should feature in everyone's festive survival kit.
