Review: 'LITTLE MAGIC SHOP'
'Planet After Light Pressure EP'

Our Rating:
The press release gives no information about where this music comes from but settles instead for an off-puttingly whimsical description of what they offer: "Our songs are the stories overheard on the creaky attics, the stories that had been told by sunrays".

The enigmatic group turn out to be trio from Samara, Russia : Misha Shimarov, Sasha Baidachnaia and Karina Grigorleva although publicity shots show only Sasha and Karina so maybe Misha is already history.

On the four tracks, each more or less 4 minutes long, there is indeed a sunny baroque pop glow with references TP rainbows, colors and...erm.... pineapples.

The female voice is childlike and exudes a sense of wonderment at the universe; like a conversation between Bjork and CocoRosie overheard in a creaky attic.

Well..... maybe!
