Review: 'Set To Break'
'Redemption'

-  Label: 'Imperial Music'
-  Genre: 'Heavy Metal' -  Release Date: '17th March 2014'

Our Rating:
There must be something in the water in Wales. I’m talking about the unprecedented proliferation of heavy guitar bands of a very metal persuasion, of course, and Set to Break are as heavy as they come. The six tracks on ‘Redemption’ are fucking brutal, a sonic blitzkrieg of guitar-driven rage and an irreconcilable loathing of humanity.

‘Made to Suffer’ slams in a flurry of fury, the dense wall of sound is dark and as hard as granite, the howling guttural grindcore vocal torn from the bowels of the earth and encapsulating the anguish of suffering. This isn’t some cleaned-up posturing eyeliner rock act, but a band who wallow in the sewers and feed off social decay. Long may they continue to churn the sods, to burrow deep into the loam amidst the cadavers and to raise hell.
