With a tone that's set early doors, the new EP from the Lowriders is a gritty, indie-rock treat that really reminds me of the likes of Ocean Colour Scene - albeit heavier and more modern.
The songs on this EP were written for a independent feature film also called 'I Am Soldier', which apparently 'stars Noel Clarke and Tom Hughes as soldiers at an SAS recruitment camp'.
It brings to mind a set of grimy, grainy imagery which would fit this sound perfectly - spacey guitars and chunky chords with an airy but powerful vocal over the top.
