‘Acoustic’ – the second album by The Eye of Time, solo project of French musician Marc Euvrie finds the composer stepping away from machines and technology to utilise only piano and cello. The result is an album containing six tracks, each a response to different locations and points of time.
Piano chords roll and swell to dramatic crescendos and strings flutter delicately in what is effectively a series of neoclassical pieces. It’s a far cry from both its predecessor and the DIY punk scene Euvrie is commonly associated with, but it’s also a beautifully poised and considered work that reveals Euvrie’s diverse musical talents.
