DeadAudioSaints sure know how to do full-throttle. The EP starts strongly with the thumping juggernaut rock of ‘The Purge’, a dense wall of driving guitars slam through a killer hook that makes an unequivocal statement of intent.
‘Tear Apart’ is a solid swagger that sits between QUOTSA and Marilyn Manson, some low-slung sleaze draped around a super-chunky bass-driven stomp. ‘Don’t Like You’ is more overtly punky and is perhaps the weakest track of the give, but ‘Taking Control’ provides a climactic finish, a high-octane, high-tempo explosion.
The density of the band’s sound certainly stands them apart from so many of their peers. If they can maintain this kind of momentum over the course of a full album, they’re going to be going places.
