They may invite comparisons to the likes of Lower than Atlantis, Reuben, and Bring me the Horizon, but this eponymous EP from Leeds foursome Kill the Silence stands apart for a number of reasons. Immediately apparent is the drive, the full-blooded edge of their guitar-driven attack. Jason Walsh combines grit and melody, meaning theirs is a sound that’s accessible, but carries more weight than many of their peers. The hard-edged punk of ‘S.S.D.D.’ is a standout, and in all, it’s a very solid debut.
